BASIC DEMOGRAPHICS

Name: Mitte
Age: 12, looks closer to 11.
Gender: Male
Species: Technically human. Specifically, a symbiote with a small, magical green bug known as a Fae. Consequently, he does not consider himself fully human.
Languages: English, German, and a bit of French.

APPEARANCE

Height: 4'7"

Weight: Light and scrawny. One could easily pick him up and toss him over a shoulder.

Build: Weak

Skin: Pale and unmarked, except for a few freckles over his nose and cheeks.

Hair: Dark brown. He keeps it a bit long and messy, and it sometimes gets into his eyes.

Eyes: A bright, intelligent, almost unnatural green.

Other traits: None, aside from the fact that he's a little off in a few ways. His face is too perfectly symmetrical, and he's handsome in that sort of almost plastic, doll-like way. His teeth and skin and hands and hair are all perfect, which is very unusual.

Clothes: Mitte sleeps in a pair of fine, expensive silk pajamas. They are pale blue and have little duckies printed on them. After getting a blue orb, he traded these for a bluer version of the uniform of his old academy--a pale blue suit jacket, a white undershirt, a dark blue tie, blueish-gray shorts, white long socks, dark gray shoes, and a dark blue-gray book bag over one shoulder. It looks very tidy.


PHYSICALITY

Demeanor: Mitte is a very refined young man. He walks with perfect posture and poise, and is rarely in any real hurry. Occasionally he'll get excited and lose his posture in favor of bouncing excitedly, but he'll always quickly regain it, with a bit of embarrassment for his slip.

Speech patterns: Equally proper. Mitte speaks in a refined and neat tone, addressing his elders with respect and generally letting himself be seen before being heard. When allowed to open up, however, he's quite a babblemouth, and will eagerly ramble or rant on anything that interests him or annoys him. Curiously, he appears to have a somewhat lacking vocabulary--several normal terms and slang terms evade him, as though he spent his life living in a box.


PERSONALITY

Overview: Mitte is, it seems, a very nice and friendly but slightly off young man. He's refined and classy, but eager to learn and make friends with people. He enjoys company and discovering new things, and has a tendency to get over excited or babble too much. He was born and raised to do a specific job, and he takes it very seriously and passionately, although he sometimes gets in over his head. Finally, he has a strong interest in psychology and philosophy, and loves nothing more than to debate things like the nature of the human mind and certain political parties throughout history with anyone willing to hear him out.

Passions: Mitte loves nothing more than learning new things, especially if they involve psychology, sociology, or philosophy. He loves moral codes and religious views, and discovering what people live for and what guides them. Mostly, he just loves learning about people. Other than that, he loves fighting crime, a good book, afternoon naps, the smell of clean laundry, swing music, playing the clarinet, and life.

Fears: Mitte's main fears that he'll admit to or dislike are being alone, being shunned or hated, being thought of as an idiot, dying. His fears beyond that are being forced into things or made to obey the whims of someone else against his own will, being restrained or imprisoned, and medical equipment.

Strengths: Mitte is a MAGICAL BOY! Transformation sequence, cool costume, the whole shebang. This comes with all the perks one can expect, such as fighting experience and cool toys and various abilities. More on that later.

Other than that, Mitte's strengths are mainly that he's very intelligent, fairly clever, and eager to learn. He picks up on things quickly and is eager to get to know people and make friends. He's charming and polite, nice and complimentary, and will listen to your problems and try to help you through them as best he can. Very friendly!

Weaknesses: While Mitte has various magical abilities in his magical boy form, he's physically pretty weak. He's very naive and easily confused or led astray, and he tends to get into trouble often due to his own curiosity and answer-seeking.

That aside, Mitte doesn't understand or thinks differently of a lot of things others take for granted. He doesn't know a lot about culture or expectations, and while he does his best to be polite and friendly, he tends to view things in stark black and whites, which can cause problems. He tends to be a bit on the literal side and doesn't understand sarcasm or jokes or much of what makes a person 'good' or 'evil'. He's also very easily rendered jealous or envious, though he abhors the idea of getting into a fight over such things and will avoid it. He's eager to please and make friends, but not the best at it.

Quirks:

- Mitte is a bit of a trickster, and will occasionally use that to achieve his own ends. He feels nothing lightens a mood faster than some lighthearted merriment or pranking.

- Mitte recognizes that he doesn't know a lot of things, and will often look to other people for guidance or permission in things he's unsure about. A simple nod of the head, though, and he'll dive right into it.

- Mitte is always eager to learn, and as a consequence he's a bit ill-focused. He'll stay long enough to learn about a situation, then leave to somewhere more interesting once it gets dull.

- Mitte doesn't understand a lot of things that others do, partially because they've never been relevant. He doesn't get why death is such a big deal, or what's the harm in a practical joke, or why holidays are celebrated. He spends a lot of his time confused, but he's eager to learn with a childlike, open curiosity.

HISTORY

Dream: Mitte's dreams are often colorful and bright and semi-incoherent. He likes to dream of utopias and pretty places, of gorgeous landscapes and comforts like being held and loved and cared for. They're normally always sick and vaguely bitter with longing and envy and a strange almost hatred.

Homeworld: Mitte grew up on an earth both like ours and exceptionally not, in a thousand minor ways. For one main thing, humans are in a symbiotic relationship with these strange little buglike creatures called the Fae. Fae are exceptionally rare, nearly extinct; one can go their entire lives without seeing one. However, they are very intelligent and magically gifted, and rely on the humans to survive.

No one is entirely sure where the Fae came from; that information was lost, long ago. All they know for sure is that the Fae brought with them their main predator, strange shadowy creatures called the Rael. The Rael, though having less magic than the Fae, had far greater numbers, and quickly nearly drove the Fae to extinction. In desperation, the Fae made an agreement with humans, recruiting them into the war in exchange for magic and technology. The Fae would burrow parasitically into the flesh of one particular human who found themselves in sync with Fae magic, and the Fae would feed off them in exchange for great powers.

While the Rael are long since extinct, humans and Fae still have a strong relationship, and magic has become one of the key resources and treasured items on earth.

Family/Friends: None.

History: Mitte is one of several boys and girls who were raised in the hopes of eventually obtaining a symbiotic relationship with a Fae and becoming magical people. Like all the other children in his town, he was practically raised by the military-government, sent off to a year-round school as soon as he was old enough in order to be taught history, magic, and all the basics children must know.

Mitte's unique magical talent and natural intelligence sent him off to a more elegant, private middle school, wherein his studies focused less on the basics and became far more strictly focused on magic, biology, tactics, and defense. While it was never directly stated, it was clear this was in the hopes he'd prove himself a good warrior, and he worked his hardest to become so. He had excellent grades, and quickly proved very in sync with magic, especially life magic.

When Mitte turned eleven, he met his Fae. They formed a quick connection, with the Fae bonding to him and Mitte's full magic potential finally being unlocked. He became a magical boy representing life, light, and purity, and has been fighting as a beacon of as much ever since.

A short while ago, Mitte met what is a frequent phenomena with magical people--his opposite and match. Achan is the magical boy of void, death, and darkness, a contrast to Mitte's own power. The two hit it off instantly, becoming fast friends and fighting to keep their city balanced and free of crime and corruption through whatever means necessary.

The citizens, understandably, do not much approve of the fate of the city being left in the hands of two naive 12-year-olds, especially ones who tend to see morals in a very black-and-white perspective, but who's going to argue with those that control life and death?

Sleeping: Mitte was sleeping in his bed in his room, all cozy and warm.

SKILLS

Primary Skills: Mitte's primary skill is being a magical boy. He has a parasite Fae buried in the center of his chest, a small thing that looks like a glittering green gem. With enough will, he can transform, turning his ducky pajamas into a tidy pair of grey slacks and a grey vest, a billowy white undershirt with long, flowing tails, white boots, a flowing white scarf that often takes the vague shape of wings, and bandages winding along his hands and arms. (The green 'gem', meanwhile, still glows prominent, as though the clothes were pinned beneath it.)

As a magical boy, Mitte has several skills and abilities. They are as follows:

* The ability to float and hover slightly, and slow down falls. It's not very effective, but it looks cool.
* The ability to survive and slowly heal from any injury. He still feels pain, and he HATES pain, but he can get back up from a stab to the head with only minor concern.
* The ability to keep people alive. Please note that this does not extend to healing; he cannot heal other people. He can, however, keep them alive, regardless of what happens to them.
* The ability to bring life to other things. Mitte can breathe life into just about anything, and take it away if he's the one who gave it in the first place. Most all things that he makes live are not sentient, though, and most all of them beg for death.
* The ability to, upon physical contact, drain the life slowly from others. This hurts quite a bit, although it won't kill someone for a long while unless they're already close to death.
* The ability to summon glittering, glowing white daggers of light and justice! Anyone struck by one of his knives will feel the life slowly draining from them as long as it's buried in their flesh.
* The ability to perform, with enough will, his 'final attack'--summoning a glowing ethereal bow and arrow and firing a large arrow of brilliant magic to impale evildoers and purify them. He can only do this every so often, as it exhausts him.


Combat: Mitte, as one would predict, has a lot of combat experience. However, as it exhausts him, he prefers to avoid literal combat if at all possible. He will try and talk out a situation and reach a peaceful agreement, even if that involves somewhat tricky gambits and putting up with a lot; after all, he knows good and well he can't die if he doesn't want to, and he has a high pain tolerance. He avoids combat, and is in no hurry to reveal his magical boy nature, mostly because of how badly it exhausts him to maintain.

When actually drawn into combat, though, he prefers to quickly gain the upper hand, and attack with quick, light moves. Once he has the upper hand, he likes to draw it out as long as possible, and will often perform risky or self-sacrificing moves in order to make his opponent suffer as much as possible.

Weapons/Gear: None, other than the glowing, ethereal items he can summon as a magical boy. They are theoretically infinite, but take a lot out of him to make and disappear once they've been thrown or used. They're a lot weaker in Insomnium than in the real world, which infuriates him.

Unusual Abilities: Being a magical boy, born and raised, mostly. Other than that, he's a fairly average, nice, if off young man.

Other: Mitte is very nice and wants to make friends, but he also hates people. He hates people A LOT.
